Murrisk N.S.

Located at the foot of Croagh Patrick, Murrisk National School is a rural 3 teacher school with a full time Special Education Teacher (SET), an English as an Additional Language teacher (EAL) and a Special Needs Assistant (SNA). Breakfast club is available each morning from 8am in Little Bears Preschool on site and Stay+Play offers an afterschool service also. Last year saw the addition of a new state of the art modular classroom, a special education room and an astro turf area. Our school has a sensory room and there is a community playground situated on the grounds. Hot School Meals are provided daily from local
restaurant, The Tavern, containing high quality homemade food. Our school promotes a holistic approach to education, developing all aspects of the child, including intellectual, physical, social, cultural and spiritual. The children at Murrisk NS benefit from the small class sizes and close knit community spirit. Murrisk NS has a Parent Association, who are there to provide support to both the school and the parent body. Murrisk NS is ideally located beside Croagh Patrick, Millennium Park and the seashore for habitat studies, nature walks and sporting activities.
