Funding project in conjunction with Tesco

from "Tesco" website

Murrisk National School, a rural two teacher school just six miles from Westport town. The school and its active Parents' Association generally raise funds with an annual Christmas concert, a yearly community fun run, flag days, cake sales and bric-a-brac stalls. The money raised is used to pay for activities such as dancing & music lessons, tours & field trips, transport to events like matches & musicals, and for essentials such as library books and educational toys.

Mrs. Anne O’Reilly, principal of the school said: “We used our Tesco Community Fund donation to record our own traditional music CD in a professional recording studio in Westport. We played tunes such as 'The Star of the County Down' and 'Tears of Clew Bay' on our tin whistles and accordions, and a wonderful day was had by all. We would not have had the opportunity to take part in this fantastic and educational activity without the Tesco Community Fund. Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who dropped their tokens in our cylinder. We really appreciate it.
