Cumann na mBunscol 2017

The senior room played in the Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic football tournament recently. Eoghan Canavan, Simon foy, Joey Martin, Conor Cannon, Darragh Kearney, Sean Casey, Cliodhna Casey and Niamh Reilly was the squad that played.

We travelled to Islandeady on the 20th of April where there were three rounds in the competition. We got a bye in the first round so we advanced to the semi-finals where we played Lecanvey School. Murrisk N.S dominated the game and won with a score of 6:07-0:01. Next we played Carrowkennedy N.S. in the final. This was a much more even game and finished with a final score of 2:05-2:03 to Murrisk N.S. These results sent us to the quarter finals.

On May 8th we travelled to Kilmeena in the county quarter final to play against Manulla N.S. Murrisk scored a goal right on halftime to put them in the lead at 1:03 to 1:01. Manulla had a few minutes where they created good chances and scored. The final score was Murrisk 1:05 Manulla 6:02.That ended our run but we all enjoyed ourselves.
