SPORT

Sport plays a huge role in our Curriculum with children participating in GAA, soccer, martial arts, athletics, dance & swimming. We qualified for the SPAR FAI County Finals in April 2018 and we won Cumann na mBunscol in May 2018!

Music, Art & Drama

We place a huge emphasis on the Arts at Murrisk N.S. All children take part in weekly music lessons with an instrument of choice.

Creativity is strongly encouraged as is learning through painting, drawing, use of fabric & fibre, clay & construction.

We love learning through Drama & our Annual Christmas Concert is the highlight of the year!

Murrisk N.S. is recognised as a "Digital School of Excellence" because of our commitment to learning through the use of IT. Every pupil has their own laptop/desktop assigned to them and enjoy contributing to the "Class Blog" area of our website.

SESE

At Murrisk N.S., we place emphasis on learning through exploring our beautiful natural environment - sea, woodland and mountain habitats - and our heritage - Croagh Patrick, Murrisk Abbey and Mesolithic Standing Stones to name but a few!

SPHE

We take a holistic approach to learning and believe that children learn best when they are happy.

Therefore, we ensure the utmost care for our pupils' mental health through the teaching of the SPHE curriculum, as well as participation in initiatives such as "Inamojo Wellbeing" & "Zippy & Friends" Programmes.
